Sri Lanka salary and payslip calculator

A gross-to-net salary calculation starts with monthly gross employment income, then subtracts APIT, employee EPF, and applicable stamp duty to find take-home pay. For 2026/27, resident individuals and Sri Lankan citizens receive Rs. 1.8 million annual personal relief, equal to Rs. 150,000 per month for regular primary employment. The IRD's latest published APIT tables are labelled 2025/26; the underlying statutory rates remain effective from 1 April 2025.

Employee EPF 8%Rs. 16,000
Stamp dutyRs. 25
Take-home salaryRs. 180,975

Assumes the full Rs. 200,000 is EPF/ETF eligible. Enter the contributory earnings amount shown on your payslip when it differs.

EPF's statutory minimum is 8% from the employee and 12% from the employer on total monthly earnings. ETF is 3% paid by the employer. Official total-earnings definitions include salary and specified allowances, so "basic salary only" is not a universal rule.
